The next-generation productivity suite
Improved Office apps
Office 2019 is the next on-premises version of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, Publisher and Skype for Business.
Create and share professional-looking documents with state-of-the-art editing, reviewing, and sharing tools. The new Design tab provides quick access to features, and Smart Lookup shows relevant contextual information from the web directly inside Word.
Analyze and visualize your data in new and intuitive ways with a fresh user interface plus your favorite keyboard shortcuts. Leverage features like Analysis Toolpak, Slicers, and Formula Builder to save time, so you can focus on insights.
Create, collaborate, and effectively present your ideas with new slide transitions and an improved Animations task pane. Threaded comments alongside your slides help you incorporate feedback into your presentations.
Easily manage your email, calendar, contacts, and tasks. Push email support keeps your inbox up to date, conversation view groups related messages, and calendars can be viewed side-by-side for planning.
Store, query, and visualize your data with Microsoft Access as part of Office 2019 Professional. Access can connect to multiple databases, includes customizable templates and gives you an all-encompassing data developing environment.
Create and share professional quality layouts with the latest design and editing tools from Microsoft Publisher. Swap out content, add effects and easily share your finished projects all in one complete application.
Skype For Business
Skype for Business, formerly Lync 2013, for Windows Phone extends the power of Lync and Skype for Business to your mobile device – including voice and video over wireless, rich presence, instant messaging, meetings, and calling features from a single, easy-to-use interface.
OneNote is absent from the suite as the UWP version of OneNote bundled with Windows 10 replaces it. OneNote 2019 can be installed as an optional feature on the Office Installer.
New IT Value
Office 2019 also includes new IT value for enhanced security and streamlined administration.
Reduce costs and improve security
We introduced Click-to-Run (C2R), a modern deployment technology, in Office 2013, and it’s now used to deploy and update Office across hundreds of millions of devices worldwide. With Office 2019, we’re moving the on-premises versions of Office to C2R to reduce costs and improve security.
Enterprise-focused management capabilities
C2R offers the same enterprise-focused management capabilities as Microsoft Installer (MSI) based products and will also support an in-place upgrade when you move to Office 2019 from older MSI-based products. The advantages of C2R include predictable:
up-to-date apps on installation
reduced network consumption*
easy upgrade path to Office 365 ProPlus
* Reduced network consumption through Windows 10 download optimization technology.
